Immunologic assessment is a diagnostic approach that analyses antigen-antibody reactions to detect diseases. The immune system assessment will be more focused on the characteristics of the disease and the causative organisms, assisting in the management of successful illness therapy. To treat infectious diseases and immune-mediated diseases, very specific and sensitive immunologic approaches are used. Immunological tests are available for a variety of medical problems and purposes, including allergy testing, bowel cancer screening, and determining whether a woman is pregnant. They can be used to do routine testing at hospitals and laboratories, as well as to conduct rapid tests at home and in the offices of family doctors and specialists. Specific antibodies bind to the drug or pathogen that is being tested for in immunological tests. This reaction can be seen with the naked eye in some tests. The blood coagulates (clumps together) on the test card in tests to identify your blood group, for example. Other tests require the use of a fluorescent dye or an enzyme to make the response apparent.
